The annual conference of the Department of orthopedics - Faculty of Medicine Mansoura University opened in February 2024

Under the patronage of Prof. Sherif Khater - president of Mansoura University and in the presence of Prof. Ashraf Shoma - dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Tamer Abu Al-Saad - vice dean of the faculty of medicine for postgraduate studies and research, Prof. Al-Shaarawi Kamal - executive director of hospitals and medical centers.

The conference was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Akram Hammad - professor and head of the Department of orthopedics and the rapporteur of the conference Prof. Abdul Rahman Al-janaini, and the secretary of the Conference Prof. Adham al-Sharqawi

This year, the conference discussed the latest findings of science and technology in the treatment of orthopedic surgery patients, as well as complications resulting from them and how to avoid them using the best modern technologies to provide better results for patients.

Forty-seven professors were present at the conference, each in his field of specialization is the most prominent in Egypt from the Faculty of Medicine of Mansoura and seven Egyptian universities (Cairo, Alexandria, Ain Shams, Al-Azhar, Menoufia, Assiut, Suez Canal, Kafr el-Sheikh)

The new conference discussed advanced upper limb surgeries, joint surgeries, diabetic foot surgeries, foot and ankle surgeries, spine surgeries

The new conference also discussed bone fractures, injuries, bone deformities, as some rare cases are done and how to treat them

Modern methods of bone tumor surgery were also presented

And everything new was shown in shoulder, knee and ankle binoculars

Reviews of modern pharmacological treatments in the treatment of chronic bone diseases

Prof. Ashraf Shoma confirmed that the Department of orthopedics since its inception until now is a scientific stature with its distinguished professors and Surgeons not only at the level of Mansoura but at the level of Delta governorates.

The Shanghai Ranking has shown for four consecutive years that the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University is the best clinical medicine as a result of the efforts of a constellation of young scientists and surgeons and the provision of outstanding medical services in the Orthopedic Specialty.

Prof. Tamer Abu Al-Saad confirmed that the Faculty of Medicine is distinguished by its research, making it in the ranks of universities in the Shanghai Ranking, and the faculty is distinguished by holding many training courses, workshops and the Arab board to transfer modern skills to young doctors.

Prof. Al-Shaarawi Kamal pointed that the orthopedic department is one of the distinguished departments in the system of medical services for patients and works to end the waiting lists. the department also provides many scientific researches that contribute significantly to raising the rate of international publication.

Prof. Akram Hammad added that the conference is being held in its fourth session and witnesses the presence of a group of lecturers in Egyptian universities, which led to the excellence of the conference. He also pointed to the keenness of the university administration, the Faculty of Medicine and the hospital administration to complete the equipping of the new orthopedic center.
